He's Just Not That Into You

Nachdem ich mich nun schon seit dem Thanksgiving Wochenende darauf gefreut habe, dass am 6. Februar He's Just Not That Into You ins Kino kommt, war es heute endlich so weit. Sarah konnte leider nicht, weil sie so wie ich Midterms hat. Da ich allerdings soooo gern den Film sehen wollte, habe ich mir die 3h genommen, um mit Cory ins Kino zu gehen.

Cory hatte mir vor ein paar Wochen das Buch zum Lesen gegeben, welches wirklich in jedem (weiblichen) Bücherregal stehen sollte. Das würde wahrscheinlich eine Menge Drama ersparen. Der Autor des Buches, auf dem der Film basiert, Greg Behrendt, war Berater für die TV Serie Sex and the City. Dementsprechend ist auch der Humor.

Ich wusste nicht genau, was ich vom Film erwarten sollte. Es waren so viele bekannte Schauspieler dabei. Einige, zum Bsp Drew Barrymore, sind dabei meiner Meinung nach zu kurz gekommen.
Zwischenzeitlich war es etwas verwirrend, wer wen kannte und in welcher Beziehung zueinander stand.
Gefallen hat mir, dass es kein Cliche-Film war. Auf der offiziellen Website kann man sich einen Film angucken: Top 10 Chick Flick Cliches not found in the movie. Es ist einfach ein Film über's Leben und wie es manchmal kommen kann.
Bezaubernd ist Ginnifer Goodwin, die ich damals schon in Mona Lisa Smile mochte. She is the rule. Ganz typisch (ok, vllt ein bischen Cliche) ein Single, der auf Anrufe wartet, denn he said he'd call.
He's just not that into you...

usw.
Alles in allem war der Film einfach adorable und gute Unterhaltung. Das Lesen des Buches ersetzt er allerdings nicht.

Zur Orientation haben wir damals von der SOU Kinofreikarten bekommen. Da ich meine immernoch hatte, sie aber am 31. Januar ungültig geworden wäre, habe ich Cory gefragt, ob wir nicht ins Kino wollen. Gesagt getan. Unsere Wahl fiel auf "Last Chance Harvey" mit Dustin Hoffman. Einerseits war er sehr traurig, aber man hat sich letztendlich mit Harvey gefreut während er sich in Kate verliebt hat.

Die Story:

New Yorker Harvey Shine is on the verge of losing his dead-end job as a jingle writer. Warned by his boss that he has just one more chance to deliver, Harvey goes to London for a weekend to attend his daughter’s wedding but promises to be back on Monday morning to make an important meeting—or else.

Harvey arrives in London only to learn his daughter has chosen to have her stepfather walk her down the aisle instead of him. Doing his best to hide his devastation, he leaves the wedding before the reception in hopes of getting to the airport on time, but misses his plane anyway. When he calls his boss to explain, he is fired on the spot.

Drowning his sorrows at the airport bar, Harvey strikes up a conversation with Kate, a slightly prickly, 40-something employee of the Office of National Statistics. Kate, whose life is limited to work, the occasional humiliating blind date and endless phone calls from her smothering mother is touched by Harvey, who finds himself energized by her intelligence and compassion.

The growing connection between the pair inspires both as they unexpectedly transform one another’s lives.
